About USOKARA

USOKARA is a crowdfunding site run in-house by USONO inc. of Tokyo. The only projects listed here are our own — plans by USONO, by our shops (Uso no Tobacco Shop in Asakusabashi and Kamenya Omote in Kyojima), and joint plans with the artists we work with. Instead of paying a platform fee, every yen raised goes into making the plan real.

The name comes from the Japanese proverb uso kara deta makoto — "truth that came out of a lie." A company with "lie" in its name making its plans come true: that is what this place is for.

How payment works

Every project is all-or-nothing. Your support is recorded as a reservation, and payment happens only if the project reaches its goal by the deadline. If it falls short, nobody is charged and the reservation simply expires.

[Prototype note: payment is not yet connected. The production version will register a card at reservation time and charge it only when the goal is reached.]

Price	As shown for each reward on each project page, including Japanese consumption tax.
Additional charges	Domestic shipping within Japan is included in the reward price. For rewards shipped abroad, import duty, import tax, and customs handling fees are payable by the recipient. Internet and communication charges are yours.
Payment method	Credit card
When you are charged	Nothing is charged when you place your backing. Only projects that have reached their goal at the deadline are charged, after the deadline closes. If a project falls short, no charge is made at all and your reservation lapses automatically.
Delivery	Varies by project. The expected timing is stated in each project's text and its "Risks and challenges" section. If production, sourcing, or shipping causes a delay, we post it in that project's Updates.
Cancellation	You may cancel while the campaign is still open — email the address above. After the deadline we cannot accept cancellations, as production and sourcing have already begun.
Returns	If a reward arrives damaged, incomplete, or different from its description, contact us within 8 days of delivery. We will replace it or refund it and cover the shipping. Returns for change of mind cannot be accepted.
If a funded project becomes impossible	If a project reaches its goal but we then become unable to carry it out through our own fault, we refund the full amount paid and publish what happened in the Updates.
Alcohol	Projects involving alcohol are carried out by Kyokuchifu Inc., which holds the required liquor sales licence. We do not sell alcohol to anyone under 20.
